NEW YORK ACTOR SHOWCASE

LOS ANGELES ACTOR SHOWCASE

THANK YOU FOR A SUCCESSFUL SHOWCASE!

SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT YEAR!

The 2006 Showcase presentations were terrifically successful.

The New York presentations were offered at the Lamb's Theater in Times Square in March. More than four hundred industry professionals were on hand to see the actors and Musical Theater performers. As a result the graduating students met with the top talent agents and personal managers. Several of the actors were signed to the agencies immediately. New York casting directors invited these seniors in for auditions and meetings and are being considered for a number of New York productions and television projects.

The Los Angeles showcase was offered at the FALCON THEATER in Burbank, May 8th and 9th. Once again almost four hundred industry professionals attended the four performances. The actors were invited to meet casting directors at Paramount Studios, 20th Centrury Fox, the major television networks, the WB, HBO , Dreamworks , Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers and both Disney Features and Animation Casting.

ABOUT THE EAST and WEST COAST SHOWCASES

Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama is the oldest actor-training program in the country. The School has prepared an enormous pool of well known and highly respected actors since 1914. (For more information about the School of Drama please visit: http://www.cmu.edu/cfa/drama/)

A vital part of the careers of the young performers has been their presentations at the New York Spring Showcase . For decades this event has been attended by the country’s most notable talent agents, casting directors, personal managers and directors who have been integral in establishing emerging careers.

Carnegie Mellon actors Ted Danson, Cherry Jones, Ming Na, Laura San Giacomo, Patrick Wilson, and Holly Hunter had seminal professional guidance through the industry contacts made at the New York Showcase.

Film and television contacts were made for our graduating actors in 1996 by adding a showcase presentation in Los Angeles.

The east and west coast showcases have helped to launch our actors into the Business with highly visible theater, television and feature film productions.
